I Am Not Your Negro
On October 18, 2017, a film screening and discussion of I Am Not Your Negro will be held in room 100 of Hayden Hall at 7 p.m. The movie is based on James Baldwin's 1979 letter "Remember This House", in which he described his first hand accounts with civil rights leaders Medgar Evers, Malcom X and Martin Luther King Jr. Baldwin's letter and manuscript was only 30 pages by the time of his death in 1987, prompting Raoul Peck to transform his work to the big screen in 2016. This screening is Co-sponsored with the HGI Center.
