Dr. Kevin Ahern gives Keynote Speech at LaSallian Education Symposium

April 7th is the Feast of Saint John Baptiste De LaSalle on which we celebrate the legacy and impact of the patron saint of teachers. Saint De LaSalle was also the founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. In his legacy, there is a strong emphasis and passion for education, social justice, and peace prevailing on Earth. This year, the Lasallian Association of Colleges and Universities (LACU) presented a symposium entitled “Justice in the World and the Mission of Lasallian Education Today: Enacting the Common Good.”

This year, Manhattan College's own Dr. Kevin Ahern was the keynote speaker at this event. In addition to being an associate professor of Religious Studies, Dr. Ahern is also the advisor to the MC Just Peace chapter and a scholar of Christian social movements.
